A Curated Guide to Non-Toxic Baby Products Recommended by Moms
If you’ve ever gone down the rabbit hole of trying to figure out what’s actually in your baby’s clothes, crib mattress, car seat or bath products, you know how overwhelming it can be. Organic cotton, GOTS, OEKO-TEX, wool, silicone, flame retardants, PFAS...the list goes on! While I absolutely think it’s worth being intentional about what we bring into our homes, I also don’t think you need to become an expert in every certification just to buy your baby a onesie.
We asked the moms in our community: “What brands do you love when you're trying to make cleaner, more intentional choices for your babies and kids?”
You shared a lot of great ones, so we put them all together in one place. This isn't a list of "perfect" or universally non-toxic brands. Every company has different products, materials and standards, and those can change over time. Instead, think of this as a starting point for your own research.
We've highlighted some of the things that stood out to us about each brand, whether that's organic cotton, natural fibers, third-party certifications, simpler materials or a particular product they're known for.

Naturepedic is one of the brands that really stands out for third-party certifications and transparency around mattress materials.
Their crib mattresses include GOTS-certified organic cotton, and applicable products carry certifications including GREENGUARD Gold, MADE SAFE, EWG Verified, UL Formaldehyde Free and UL Non-Detectable PFAS.
They also avoid materials such as polyurethane foam, vinyl/PVC and added flame retardants in applicable products.

A Few Certifications You'll See While Shopping
If you've never heard of these certifications before, don't feel like you need to memorize them. Here's the quick version.
GOTS
Global Organic Textile Standard
This is one of the certifications you'll see most often when shopping for organic clothing and textiles. It goes beyond simply saying that the cotton was organically grown and includes requirements around processing, manufacturing and social criteria.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100
This tests finished textile products and their components for certain potentially harmful substances.
Important: OEKO-TEX does not mean organic. A polyester garment can be OEKO-TEX certified.
GREENGUARD Gold
This focuses on chemical emissions and indoor air quality.
You'll see it frequently with mattresses, furniture and baby gear.
IVN BEST
This is a particularly strict natural-textile standard. Disana, for example, carries IVN BEST certification.
Responsible Wool Standard
You'll often see RWS when shopping for wool.
It focuses on animal welfare, responsible land management and traceability through the wool supply chain.
FSC
The Forest Stewardship Council certification is relevant to wood and wood-derived materials.
You may see it on products like diapers that use wood pulp.
