Postpartum Healing Coconut Curry Soup Recipe
During the postpartum period, nourishment needs to be warm, grounding, and easy to digest. This healing curry stew brings together mineral-rich bone broth, healthy fats from coconut milk, and deeply comforting spices like ginger, turmeric, and curry powder, all designed to support recovery, digestion, and emotional well-being.

Ingredients

1 lb ground meat (ground beef, chicken, shredded beef, etc)

1 tbsp coconut oil or ghee

1 large yellow onion, diced

4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
-
2 medium carrots, diced
-
1 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
-
2-3 yellow potatoes, peeled and cubed
-
1.5 tbls yellow curry powder
-
1 tbls tomato paste
-
1 can (13.5 oz) full-fat coconut milk
-
4 cups bone broth
-
1 tbsp fish sauce or tamari (optional)

1 tsp sea salt (or to taste)

½ tsp turmeric powder
-
Juice of 1 lime

Optional: 1 cup chopped kale or baby spinach

Optional: ½ cup chopped cilantro or Thai basil, for garnish
Instructions

If meat is not already cooked, cook and set aside

Heat coconut oil/ghee to the pot. Saute onion, garlic and ginger for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Add carrots and cook 2-3 minutes more.

Stir in the tomato paste, curry powder and turmeric. Cook for 1 minute to release the flavors. Add the sweet potatoes and toss to coat.

Pour in bone broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15–20 minutes, until the sweet potatoes/potatoes are tender.

Return the ground beef to the pot. Stir in coconut milk, fish sauce/tamari, and salt. Add kale or spinach if using. Simmer for another 5 minutes.

Stir in lime juice before serving. Taste and adjust seasoning. Top with fresh cilantro or Thai basil if desired.
Optional additions: diced bell pepper, cauliflower florets, or a pinch of chili flakes for spice.
