The Best Clean Snack Bars for Kids and Adults (2025 Guide)

We love to cook things from scratch when we can, but sometimes we need something easy to grab and go, like a bar of some sort. There are millions of bars on the market, and so many of them are filled with junk, to put it frankly. I’m always on the hunt for a bar with cleaner ingredients that I can feel good about fueling myself (and my children) with!

My ideal is organically sourced ingredients, no seed oils, no artificial sweeteners, and bonus points for a decent amount of protein.

Here are my current favorites (and be sure to check back as this list is always evolving!):

Prima Bars

One of my absolute favorites. I have these on subscribe and save. They are all delicious, but my favorite flavors are Cookie Dough and Salted Caramel. Bars have about 16g protein, 11g fat, and 17g carbs. They are sweetened with organic raw honey (which I much prefer over stevia, monk fruit, etc.), and they have grass-fed tallow, collagen, and real food ingredients.

Starts at $3.99 per bar. Save 15% here.

Equip Protein Bars

One of my other favorites. They have 20g protein per bar and are sweetened with dates and honey. Grass-fed beef protein, collagen, and colostrum… they have chocolate, peanut butter, and mixed berry.

Starts at $3.54 per bar. Save 10% with code RESTORATIVE.

Perfect Bars

These bars have a little less protein at about 12 grams, but I do love that they have full-size bars around the 230-calorie mark as well as mini bars around the 130-calorie mark for kids. They are extremely dense and full of healthy fats and complex carbs. You can find these anywhere—like Sprouts, Whole Foods, or even online grocery retailers like Amazon. They are refrigerated but are shelf-stable for up to two weeks.

Starts at $3.62 per bar and can be ordered online here.

Skout Bars

These are great little mini bars for kids. They do not have a significant amount of protein or fat (usually about 2 grams each) and are mostly carbs (about 17 grams), but they are made with real food ingredients, are USDA Organic, and the kids love them. They have a ton of flavors and are pretty yummy. They are a smaller bar, which is great for toddlers, at about 80 calories per bar.

Starts at less than $1 per bar. My favorite place to get these is discounted on Thrive Market. That link will get you 40% off your first order (no catch!).

Made Good

These ones do have sunflower oil and cane syrup, so they aren’t my favorite-favorite, but as far as granola bars go, these are a pretty good option for store-bought. They are organic and a great size for kids at about 100 calories per bar (about 2 grams protein and fat, and 17 grams carbs).

Starts at less than $0.75 per bar, and this is another Thrive Market go-to!

Good 2 Go

These bars have a solid 18 grams of protein and remind me a bit of Perfect Bars. They are also refrigerated but can be shelf-stable for up to 30 days. They have about 300 calories per bar, so they are quite filling. Grab a variety pack so you can see your favorite flavors, but I really like the Peanut Butter and Jelly, Peanut Butter Chocolate, and Almond Oatmeal Cookie.

Starts at about $2.75 per bar and can be ordered online here.

These are my personal favorite bars, but we are always eager to try new ones and stay on top of what’s out there. Please let us know if we missed any in the comments or if there are any bars you think we should try and review!
